Author Browse - Sorted by Title

Author Browse - Sorted by Title allows you to view, in alphabetical order, titles by a particular author. This search differs from an Author Browse in that the results screen also lists different editions and formats (books, videorecordings, audiorecordings, etc.) associated with a particular title.

This search is particularly useful for prolific authors/creators such as Shakespeare, Mozart and Beethoven.

To view works by William Shakespeare, grouped by editions/formats that have been given the same title:

  • type shakespeare william in the Search for: box
  • select Author Browse - Sorted by Title in the Search by: dropdown menu

The example below shows a results screen that groups works by Mozart. Note, for example, that there are 7 items that have been assigned the title Clemenza di Tito. Ouverture. You may click on the link to view those 7 titles.

An OCLC Number is an accession number assigned by the OCLC system when a record is added to WorldCat. Some OCLC numbers include the prefix "ocm." Ignore this prefix and enter the number.

If an OCLC number is fewer than eight digits, add the appropriate number of zeros to the beginning of the number to create an eight-digit number. For example, the OCLC number 1565173 should be searched as 01565173.

In WorldCat, the OCLC number is labeled Accession No. Jump to top
